Lizards come indoors for one reason: food. The house lizards you see on Karachi walls and ceilings hunt the insects drawn to lights, kitchens and bathrooms. Lizard control that lasts therefore has three parts: we reduce the insects they feed on, close the gaps they use to get in, and set glue traps where they gather. A repellent spray alone, without those three, only moves lizards from one room to the next.

We treat homes, offices, restaurants, food factories and warehouses, where lizards are also a food-safety issue that inspectors look for. This page explains why lizards come in, what works and what does not, how a treatment runs, and how to keep them out afterwards.

Why lizards come into Karachi homes

House lizards are harmless to people, but most people do not want them indoors, and in kitchens and food businesses their droppings are a hygiene problem. They come in for:

  • Insects. Moths, flies, mosquitoes, small cockroaches and other insects gather around lights, kitchens and bathrooms. Where there are many insects, lizards follow.
  • Warmth and shelter. Gaps behind wall-mounted fittings, false ceilings, AC units, picture frames, stored cartons and wardrobe tops.
  • Easy entry. Gaps around doors and windows without mesh, AC pipe holes, exhaust fan openings and drain covers.

In Karachi's hot months insects are at their peak, and lizard sightings rise with them.

What works, and what does not

Approach Does it work? Why
Reducing insects Yes, the most important step Removes the reason lizards come in
Sealing and meshing entry points Yes Stops new lizards entering
Glue traps where lizards gather Yes Removes lizards already inside
Repellent spray on its own Short-lived Lizards move to an untreated room and come back when it wears off
Mothballs, eggshells, coffee and peacock feathers No reliable effect Popular remedies with no consistent result

How a lizard treatment runs

  1. Inspection. We find where lizards are seen, where they hide in the day, and how they get in: door and window gaps, AC holes, false ceilings and drain openings.
  2. Insect reduction. A residual spray along the routes and resting places of the insects lizards feed on, in kitchens, bathrooms, stores and around outdoor lights. Where cockroaches are the main food source, we add cockroach gel treatment.
  3. Glue traps. Placed where lizards are most often seen: behind fittings, along ceiling edges, near lights, in stores. Traps are checked and replaced on follow-up visits.
  4. Entry-point advice and sealing. We show you each gap they use and how to close it: door sweeps, window mesh, sealing around AC and pipe holes, and covers on exhaust openings.
  5. Follow-up. A second visit to check traps, top up the insect treatment and confirm the entry points have been closed.

What you can do to keep lizards out

  • Switch outdoor lights to yellow or warm-white bulbs, which attract fewer insects, and keep them off when not needed.
  • Fit mesh on windows and ventilators, and door sweeps on doors that open to outside.
  • Seal the gaps around AC pipes and cables where they pass through walls.
  • Keep the kitchen free of uncovered food and standing water at night.
  • Clear clutter on wardrobe tops and behind furniture, where lizards rest in the day.

Lizard control for restaurants, food factories and warehouses

In food premises, a lizard or its droppings on a preparation surface is a food-safety finding in any inspection. For these sites lizard control is part of a documented programme: insect control, trap placement recorded on a site map, entry-point checks, and a service report after each visit. See our restaurant pest control and food manufacturing IPM programmes, or our commercial pest control contracts for offices and warehouses.

Price

Lizard control is quoted after inspection, because the price depends on the size of the property, the number of rooms and openings involved, and whether a cockroach or wider insect problem needs treating at the same time. In many homes lizard control is done together with a general fumigation, which treats the insects lizards feed on across the whole property.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get rid of lizards in my house permanently?+

Reduce the insects they feed on, close the gaps they use to get in, and remove the lizards already inside with glue traps. Lizards come indoors for insects, so a home with fewer insects and sealed entry points stops attracting them. Repellent sprays alone only move them to another room.

Are house lizards dangerous?+

House lizards are not dangerous to people and do not bite unless handled. The problem is hygiene: their droppings on kitchen surfaces and in food areas. In restaurants and food businesses that makes them a food-safety issue that inspectors check for.

Does lizard repellent spray work?+

Repellent sprays give short-lived results. Lizards move to an untreated room and return when the spray wears off. Lasting lizard control comes from cutting the insects they feed on, sealing entry points and trapping the lizards already inside.

Why are there so many lizards in my house?+

Usually because there are many insects: around outdoor lights, in the kitchen and in bathrooms. Gaps around doors, windows and AC pipes let lizards in, and clutter on wardrobe tops and behind furniture gives them shelter. Lizard numbers rise in the hot months, when insects are at their peak.

Do you provide lizard control for restaurants and factories?+

Yes. For food businesses, lizard control is part of a documented programme: insect control, glue traps recorded on a site map, entry-point checks and a service report after each visit, ready for food-safety inspections.
