How the visit runs
- Walk-through. We check the property, ask where you have seen activity, and look for signs of termites, bed bugs or rodents that need a separate programme.
- Preparation check. Food covered or put away, utensils inside cupboards, pets and aquariums protected, and people with asthma or infants out of the treated rooms.
- Outdoor and drain treatment. Residual spray along boundary walls, drain covers and entry points, and treatment of standing water where mosquitoes breed.
- Indoor residual spray. Along skirting, behind appliances, under sinks, around pipe entries and in cupboard corners, the routes crawling insects travel, not across open floors and surfaces you touch.
- Cold fogging. A fine fog for flying insects in rooms, stores and covered outdoor spaces. For mosquitoes we use a deltamethrin ultra-low-volume fog.
- Re-entry and aftercare. We tell you when it is safe to use each area again, how long before mopping treated skirting, and what to watch for over the next weeks.
What to do before we arrive
- Put food, fruit and open packets into the fridge or sealed cupboards.
- Move clothes and bedding off the floor and away from skirting.
- Clear the area under the kitchen sink and behind the cooker if you can, so we reach the places cockroaches hide.
- Cover aquariums and switch off their air pumps during the treatment.
- Plan to keep children, pets and anyone with breathing problems out of the treated rooms until we confirm it is safe to return.
What to expect after the visit
You may see more insects for a few days, not fewer. Insects that were hiding in walls and drains come out as the treatment reaches them, and many die in the open. That is a sign the treatment is working, not failing. Avoid mopping along the treated skirting for the time we advise, so the residual layer keeps working.
If activity continues after the 30-day window, the cause is usually one of three things: a heavy cockroach infestation that needs gel bait rather than spray, a breeding site we could not reach, or insects coming in from a neighbouring flat. We will tell you which one it is.
